I am a very avid Lakers fan. There is no hiding that nor denying that. If you are as passionate about the Lakers as I am, you have to be pretty pissed at the results of the draft! Now the only question is who to blame? I say blame Buss Jr.
The Lakers have always built their offense to run through a big man. This has always been the key to the Laker Legacy for years. So what has changed? When Dr. Jerry Buss died, the beginning of the end of the Lakers started. Jennie is better fit to operate this team than her brother.
So back to this draft. Lakers get the #2 pick and burn it on a point guard! A point guard who really didn’t show anyone anything in the regular season. There were much better players. Okafor for one!
This is what you need! I get you want to sign Love or Aldridge, but what if you don’t? Okafor to the rescue. He is has a rookie contract and doesn’t suck up cap space. You sign him and you still have enough money to get Rondo and Love or Aldridge. But nooo, you go and sign a point guard.
