Blackhawks are in the hardest fight of their lives tonight and while I hate to say it – Crawford has played well when needed. I hope you agree because he really did if you look at the shots on goal (SOG).
Did he give up a bunch of goals in a short amount of time? Yep and I told you he was weak all season long , prior to the playoffs, and just a few games ago…but in the end for last game – he came through.
This is not about winning the battle – it is about winning the war and that is what they two teams have declared on each other. I am declaring a battlefield commission and promoting the Bhawks tonight.
If there is ANY concern for Chicago right now ? Yes sir! Defense, where it is still really only playing four defensemen and putting in a ton of ice time. That kind of crap will wear anyone down.
That is not what I am looking at though; I am going deeper than that and so should you because that is where Chicago has the most energy that the Ducks can’t touch in my opinion; Heart.
Don’t ever discount a man/team’s spirit.
Offensively, they match up pretty well, Defense is playing almost equally with cards on the table, and with goals being given up at both ends of the ice – tending has been back and forth. The one spot Ducks have given up ground is heart. Chicago has laid it all out there on the ice and come through when chips were down.
Ducks have energy for sure and fight until the last second so I am not discounting their play but the Blackhawks are the have the ones with emotion and history on their side.
What history? The Blackhawks are 14-0 in Games 5 and 6 of a series that was tied after Game 4, which is a pretty incredible number considering the company they are in.
I know people like the Ducks, they are at home, and a serious contender and I won’t ever deny it.
